Rashida Tlaib, $6 Million
One of the first two Mulsim women ever elected to the U.S. Congress, Rashida Tlaib is a lawyer by education. Born to working-class immigrants from Palestine, she began her political career with an internship in 2004 with State Representative Steve Tobocman.
It was he who encouraged Tlaib to run for the seat at the Michigan House of Representatives. And who would’ve guessed, she succeeded with over 90% of the general election’s votes. The congress representative has an accumulated fortune of about $6 million. Some of her primary agendas and motives for the seat include a $15 minimum wage and healthcare for all citizens.
